Cork Migrant Centre Ubuntu dance group performed at this year’s Kinsale Arts Weekend on the 10th of July. The performance was accompanied by a film comprising footage from another aspect of the Ubuntu project, done in collaboration with UCC Cypher project and the Kabin Studio in north Cork. The footage comes from the making of the TV series Ireland’s Change Makers, aired earlier this year.
Saoirse Ethnic Hands on Deck also participated during the weekend with a stall of their Mother Tongue totes for sale. The Mother Tongue totes are a display of multilingualism present in the enterprise. The designs are motherly sayings and wisdom passed on by mothers to their children in Albanian, Arabic, Swahili and Nigerian Pidgin English, as well as their English translations.
